“Trees are poems the earth writes upon the sky, We fell them down and turn them into paper,
That we may record our emptiness.”
Kahlil Gibran
The bespoke wooden art pieces you see before you are the creative brainchild of artist Tracy Carter and her late husband David. Tracy was born in Johannesburg, South Africa and having discovered a passion for woodwork furthered her studies in Holland mastering the art of cabinet making.
After having been invited to Mozambique by American NGO's to conduct a study on the impact that international timber merchants have on the local forests, she returned to South Africa. This was the turning point for Tracy. Her passion to protect the environment was ignited.

She established herself as a wood artist utilising timber reclaimed from floods, offcuts at building sites or salvage from demolished buildings.
Tracy re-located to the UK a few years ago and along with her wood turned designs has started recycling paper waste by pulping discarded material. She now produces a range of contemporary vessels and sculptural forms utilising paper and wood inspired by nature for interior spaces.
A palette of bold and neutral colours make her wooden and paper creations awe-inspiring.
